What are the requirements for using AmazingCloaker?
  • Windows XP, Windows 2000, 2003 Server or Windows Vista & above

  • Windows .NET Framework 3.5 (Provided by windows setup during installation if needed).

  • A web host where you can upload your cloaked pages to.
-- Your web host should support PHP or ASP for best results. 99% of all web hosts at least offer PHP in their paid hosting packages.

When I try install the AmazingCloaker, I get a message that I need the .Net Framework. When the .Net Framework tries to install, it hangs and won't install. What's wrong?

The most likely cause is that your existing DotNet Framework is corrupted. You can Download the Microsoft cleanup utility for the .Net Framework available in the link below:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

Now reinstall the full 3.5 dotNet package. You can get MicroSoft's full .Net 3.5 package here:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/0/f/60fc5854-3cb8-4892-b6db-bd4f42510f28/dotnetfx35.exe

If you are still having problems then check for any third party software that could be blocking your install such as an anti-virus or firewall suite. Typical examples would be McAfee or Norton (Symantec) Security suites, ZoneAlarm, Bit Defender, etc.

I downloaded the AmazingCloaker from your web site but the file won't open.
The downloaded file is in a ".ZIP" format. Windows XP supports this natively, and could be turned off if you're unable to open it. Earlier versions of Windows doesn't support "zip" files on their own. In this case you will need a zip utility.
You can get a free copy of "Winzip" by clicking here

Is there any AmazingCloaker affiliate or promotional links hidden inside the cloaked pages generated by AmazingCloaker?
Absolutely not! Be careful, because some link cloakers do this to secretly capitalize on your cloaked links for higher search engine rankings or to game affiliate programs. The pages created by the AmazaingCloaker are clean and your privacy is respected 100%.

Do I need a website?
Yes, even though the cloaking software is used on your Windows based computer, the pages themselves need to be uploaded to a website. Even a free website will work, but to get the maximum benefit using the PHP or ASP features, it's recommended to use a premium host who offer PHP/ASP support such as Dreamhost.com.

How long am I eligible for free updates?
Forever! Even for major version upgrades! You receive the updated cloaker automatically. The cloaker checks for updates in the background everytime you start the cloaker and will notify you when updates are available.

The FTP doesn't connect and upload my file, and I'm sure my info is correct.
Check your firewall settings.  Are you on a shared network? If so, you can ask your administrator to open up port 21 for outgoing traffic.

If you're not on a network, then check your firewall settings.  Windows XP will sometimes have your Port 21 blocked.  To find out, go to the control panel and double click "network connections" and select your internet connection (usually "Local Area Connection") and double click.
Select the "Advanced" tab and select the firewall "Settings" button.  If the Firewall settings are set to "On" then select the "Advanced" tab, click "Settings" button and check the "FTP Server" checkbox.  This will allow port 21 traffic on your computer.

If your using a third party firewall such as Zone Alarm, Bit Defender, McAfee, etc. then allow port 21 traffic according to the application's directions, or just temporarily disable it.

If you prefer to use your own FTP client to upload your re-direct page, you can find your cloaked pages in the //Program Files/AmazingCloaker folder, assuming you installed the application with the default path.

Another possibility is that your web host has your website inside a public sub folder such as "public" or "httpdocs".  You would then, for example, type your public folder name in the public box next to the FTP address.  The entire row would look something like this: yoursite.com / httpdocs. Some web hosts that allow multiple domains to be included under one hosting account will create a subfolder with the same name as your domain.  In this case your entire FTP entry would look like this: yoursite.com / yoursite.com
In this example, Dreamhost.com created a "public folder" named after your domain name, ie- yoursite.com

Why does the stealth cookie require javascript, but the re-direct page doesn't?
In order for the stealth cookie to generate without giving up the identity of your affiliate link, a javascript had to be used to make this happen.  Nearly every one of your visitors have javascript enabled anyway so it won't impact the improvement on your conversions in any significant way.  It's a small concession to make to protect your affiliate ID from being seen in the page source.

Will the AmazingCloaker work with ClickBank and Commission Junction?
Yes! For ClickBank links, check the "Don't Use Framed Re-directs" checkbox. This will
bypass the frames issue that clickbank has. For Commission Junction, simply don't use the cookie code, because CJ links already have an "auto cookie" feature of sorts.

Do my visitors need java or javascript for my cloaked links to work?
No, the links will work regardless of whether they have javascript enabled or not.

I don't like the idea of my merchant's page looking like it's part of my own website.
What are my other options?

You can use the "Don't use framed re-directs" option and you will have a seamless cloak to your merchant's site outside of your own. Just make sure that your website can handle PHP or ASP. Over 98% of all web hosts are capable of one or both.
Another option is that you can just copy the cookie code into your webpage and your visitor will be cookied with your affiliate info, even though you have a bare affiliate link in your page.  Now if your link is bypassed or a visitor inserts their own ID, you will still get credit.

Why do I need PHP or ASP for the "Don't use framed re-directs" feature?
I don't know anything about PHP or ASP either.

In order for this feature to work, the cloaked page must be generated in a server scripting language such as PHP or ASP. As you will see, these pages are completely secure, because the source code is impossible to read by the visitor. This is because the actual cloaked page doesn't contain any HTML and never really loads in your browser, it just shoots you over to the merchant's web site with your affiliate info intact!
You don't need to know anything about either PHP or ASP to use this feature. The AmazingCloaker does it all for you. Just check with your web host to see if PHP or ASP is supported or not. A vast majority of all web hosts support PHP, and many others support ASP, or both.
If you already have the AmazingCloaker and you want to try a quick test as to whether your web host supports PHP or ASP, just cloak a test page & upload it, test the link within AmazingCloaker and see if it works. If you only see source code in the browser, then either PHP / ASP is either not supported or it's not turned on in your web host control panel.

When I cloak the banner link, everything dissapears.  No banner!
When inserting your banner code make sure you are only overwriting your affiliate link code. You need to leave the <img src="http://....."> portion in place as this is the link to your banner image.

How can I tell if my cookie is really working?
An easy way to test it after inserting your cookie code is to open Internet Explorer, and in the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options", "Privacy", then click the "Advanced" button.
Check the "Override the automatic cookie handling" checkbox and select both radio buttons for "Prompt".  See the example below.

Now click "OK" to set & close the window.  Now load your newly cookied webpage and when it loads you will get a message similar to the one below.

This is a "ccbill.com" cookie loading from one of my afilliate sites.  Once you know your cookie is working, you will probably want to change your privacy settings back to where they were if you don't want to be constantly annoyed by these alerts.

Some affiliates such as ClickBank only credit the last clicked affiliate link. Will I still
be credited with the auto cookie in place if someone clicks on the competitor's link?

When I developed the software I was only able to test affiliates that included real-time click tracking to verify that my click still counted, even on a competitor's link. ClickBank doesn't offer click tracking, so to be safe, I would have to say "no", it probably doesn't, however you still have the advantage regarding link bypassers, because they got your affiliate cookie, just by visiting your site.

Is the AmazingCloaker hex code un-breakable?
If a hacker is determined enough to figure out your affiliate ID, they may eventually figure it out with the right tools.  Nothing is 100% foolproof. However 99% of the population will not consider it worth the bother. A link hacker would simply "Google" for another site with unprotected links for the same product. Also, with the stealth cookie in place, if the link was figured out and they put their own ID in place of yours, you would still get the credit!  muahhahahaha!
